Health and Safety

Knowing what happens to whom, when, and how is also important to us, it provides us our route to continuous improvement. Through accurate measurement and analysis we know statistically what is likely to happen, when, where and to whom. For example we measured non-reportable injuries and worked out that more than a third were to hands; we now have increased our  use of gloves and in some cases it's mandatory; this has reduced the severity of hand injuries considerably.  With this knowledge we can take steps to see that we minimise Health & Safety risks and our RIDDOR Statistics reflect this.

We are also certified members of the Construction Health & Safety Group, the British Safety Council and the Construction Health & Safety Assessment Scheme.

All Operatives are given Safety Briefings on  a regular basis by their Site Supervisor, who in turn undertakes regular in-house training sessions to ensure the latest Health & Safety Guidance and Procedures are followed.  All our Project Managers are currently taking part in the CITB, Site Managaers Health & Safety Scheme. In addition to the Company's own Health & Safety Training Policies we have successfully worked with a number of Clients who implement their own policies including London Underground, British Airports Authority and Railtrack; thus ensuring a nucleus of specifically trained staff who enhance our standards of Health & Safety on site.  

In April 2004 we implemented a company policy for all our employees to obtain a CSCS card and are proud of our 98% record, with the remainder of employees working towards completion of CITB requirements to obtain the card.

Our record in Health & Safety is continually recognised by our clients and we have twice been awarded the HBG Gold Award for Safety.
